IC INFORMATION
Characters Name: Teddie
Age: None really specified, but he looks around 15~ years old.
Canon: Persona 4
Canon Point: Directly post True-Ending
Species: Technically Shadow, but he develops an ego, "grows" a human body and becomes basically human.
Gender: Male
Orientation: He's rather young mentally, but throughout the game makes very forward advancements towards girls. I'd put him at heterosexual.
History: Teddie @ SMT wiki, General Game Info
Appearance: In his bear outfit, in his human form.
Personality: Teddie may peg some people as an existence beyond comprehension, and, as he's a sparkling individual who claims to be a bear, that's really an understandable assumption. It's not entirely untrue, either--Teddie's not from the "world" that most everyone who interacts with him is from, and, while he adapts, there's still a lot he doesn't know. As a result, Teddie is a bit naive, a bit gullible, a bit like a child, despite the teenage-looking body he inhabits.
Still, inexperience and naiveté means that Teddie comes off as incredibly sincere. He's an earnest person who showcases his enthusiasm in exaggerated ways, as is fitting of his almost comic-relief status in the party. His compliments are grandiose and proudly proclaimed--what might seem like small achievements to others could be met with applause from him. His sincerity is, however, not always a good thing. While he is a bad liar, his lack of social familiarity means that he's not exactly sure when things are "appropriate" to say, and sometimes he just doesn't know when things should be sugar-coated (see: when he proudly states "wow, this tastes awful!" when tasting the girls's cooking). He can be insensitive sometimes, though not intentionally and not commonly, he can be impatient, and sometimes his outgoing nature can serve as an annoyance and not quite a pick-me-up. As irritating as he can be, Teddie is a good friend. He's friendly, kind, supportive. When his friends seem genuinely hurt, he'll do everything he can do to help--even being selfless, illustrated when he charges into a battle by himself when it looks like the main party's about to lose to Rise's Shadow. He's loyal, protective, and a very persistent defender of all things right! He keeps his promises and, very begrudgingly (if he needs to) eats his vegetables! ... Though yes, he can be a bit much at times. It's hard to stay mad at someone who lives every day like he does.
The Persona series is rather fond of Tarot reference, and most of these traits embody Teddie's chosen Arcana quite well. "The Star", the 17th trump card in tarot, represents good faith, hope, free-flowing love, pure essense--all things Teddie has in spades. As an innocent character, Teddie doesn't frequently wish badly on someone, mostly keeping his thoughts non-malicious and reserving any negative thoughts to people who do terrible things. Even then, they're mild, and limited to thoughts like "We'll stop them", and not "We'll kill them". Just like Teddie is loyal to people he considers friends, he also knows that they'll be loyal to him back. It doesn't take much for him to bond with someone, and even less for him to trust someone completely, as he believes people's good intentions wholeheartedly. Well, as long as they don't conflict with his jive right off the bat. He's very much a people bear--something that's positive, but not always, as he can get rather lonely.
Of course, he's not always positivity. While Teddie thinks very simply and very readily admits complicated concepts confuse him (he's rather simple, and, admittedly, not the sharpest tool in the shed), his largest and most centralized problem is a rather profound one. As a shadow, he'd previously questioned his own existence and the worth of his own person. From his canon point he's moved on from dwelling on such problems too much, and as a result his self-confidence has increased, but it's still a good point to mention. Besides that, Teddie can be a tad bit impulsive as a result of his previously mentioned "simplistic" thought processes. He doesn't quite think things through, and, while sometimes this works, it also backfires. He can be a little lazy sometimes, but he does actually come through and work hard when it counts. He can be a little quick to get cowardly or panicked when things get particularly heated up, but ultimately, with a bit of support, he does show his incredibly optimistic mindset.
Outside of his pretty much resolved existential issues, Teddie can come across as surprisingly overconfident, with lines like "all girls love Teddie", along with his flirtatious advances and abundance of eye-blinding sparkles. He has a love for the spotlight, which is good, considering he... attracts a lot of attention, with his overdramatic tendencies and even more dramatic actions. He's a stud, after all (self-proclaimed). Cheesy? Yes, but so is he. Most of his lines are peppered with the use of commercial one-liners and almost painful bear puns, which he finds no problem with. "Joy" is yet another one of The Star's keywords, and a sense of humor/jolly nature is another one of Teddie's key attributes.
Abilities: Teddie has the ability to summon a "Persona", a manifestation of his inner self while in the T.V. world. His focuses are on support/healing and bufu (ice) based moves. He utilizes a bear claw as his main choice of weapon. Other notable abilities are: a rather good sense of smell as he is, of course, a "bear" (but a rather odd one), and the ability to sparkle.

First Person: 1, 2, and some older ones here.
Third Person:
Teddie saw his life slowly coming to an end.
Being bearnapped was one thing. Unknown surroundings, unknown people, the slight panic when he found he knew nothing and the nearest Junes was who knows how many steps away were three. Yelling out into the streets yielded no results. No one he knew answered, and Sensei was nowhere to be found. That was four. Was he going to be lost in a housing paradise alone? Would he be forced to live out the rest of his days on well-paved streets, with free food, and bigger houses than Yosuke's? He might be. He was thinking that he might be. That was six.
But, after wandering, he found that "Holly Heights" wasn't quite as bad as he may have thought. There was, as he thought, free food. He had parents and, while the concept was odd, they were nice, and the thought of having a family brought on a strange fuzzy feeling that he couldn't quite explain. Holly Heights was big, which meant more girls, which meant more chances to score (yet he still didn't know what that meant). He wasn't sure about school, as he was alway far too busy watching T.V. and playing video games to do anything like that, but maybe once in a while he could. Though the surroundings were unknown, and the people were unknown, things were more familiar than he thought.
And then he figured the truth of this place, and Teddie saw his life slowly coming to an end.
No Topsicles. The sweet, sugary treats--a very specific type that he wanted, the ones he constantly saved up for with his Junes pay--were nowhere to be found in Holly Heights. That... That was seven. And that was a seven that Teddie thought he... would probably not recover them. How was he supposed to live without the surprise of finding out whether "Winner" was printed on the stick? How was he supposed to survive the heat of summer that wasn't even here without the calming cool of Topsicles?!
He had to get out. This Lessor guy was nuts.
